Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees is the governing body of the Research Triangle Regional Public Transportation Authority, which operates as Triangle Transit.
Mission statement
Triangle Transit improves our region’s quality of life by connecting people and places with reliable, safe, and easy-to-use travel choices that reduce congestion and energy use, save money, and promote sustainability, healthier lifestyles, and a more environmentally responsible community.
Triangle Transit operates regional bus and shuttle service, paratransit services, and ridematching, vanpools, provides commuter resources, an emergency ride home program, hosts TriangleTransit.org and GoTriangle.org. The agency will also help implement future regional transit improvements as a member of the GoTriangle family of services.

Monthly Meeting: 4th Wednesday, 1:00 p.m. (except November & December, 3rd Wednesday)
Quarterly Work Session: 2nd Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. (January, April, July, October)
Public Comment: The public comment period is held at the regular monthly Board of Trustees meeting to give citizens an opportunity to speak on any item. The session is no more than 30 minutes long and speakers are limited to no more than three minutes each. Speakers are required to sign up prior to the start of the meeting with the Clerk to the Board.

The Triangle Transit is governed by a 13-member Board of Trustees. Ten members are appointed by the region’s principal municipalities and counties to staggered four-year terms. Three ex officio non-voting members are appointed by the North Carolina Secretary of Transportation. The Board of Trustees possesses the general legislative powers of Triangle Transit.
