What is the Best Pass for Me?

Not sure what pass or passes best suit your needs? Simply read the questions and answers below.

1. Do you ride Capital Area Transit (CAT) and/or Durham Area Transit Authority (DATA) buses, in addition to Triangle Transit?

Yes: Your best option is to purchase a Regional Pass. Regional passes can be used on Triangle Transit, CAT and DATA buses. The following regional passes can be purchased online:

  • regional day pass ($4.00)
  • regional 30-day pass ($64.00)
  • 6-bundle of regional day passes ($20.00)
  • 12-bundle of regional day passes ($40.00)

No: Go to Question #2.

2. Do you ride any Triangle Transit Express routes?

Yes: Your best option is to purchase a pass that is valid on the Triangle Transit Express routes. The following passes can be used on Triangle Transit Express routes:

  • Express Day Pass ($5.00)
  • Express 30-Day Pass ($80.00)
  • $25 Value Card ($20.00)

No: Go to Question #3.

3. Do you ride the bus more than 1 or 2 days per week?

Yes: Your best option is to to purchase a pass that gives you more at a discounted price. We recommend the following passes:

  • regional 30-day pass ($64.00)
  • 6-bundle of regional day passes ($20.00)
  • 12-bundle of regional day passes ($40.00)
  • 10-ride pass ($16.00)
  • $25 Value Card ($20.00)

No: If you do not ride Triangle Transit often, or you are making a one-time trip, then your best option is to pay your fare on the bus. You can also purchase a regional day pass on any Triangle Transit, Capital Area Transit (CAT), or Durham Area Transit Authority (DATA) bus for $4.
