Employer Discounts

Many Triangle-area employers fully or partially subsidize the cost of Triangle Transit bus passes and/or vanpool fares. Please see the list below for more information.

Will subsidize up to 50% of an employee’s bus fare or passes purchased by the employee.

Blue Cross / Blue Shield of NC

Will pay the security deposit for any new Vanpool started by an employee.

City of Raleigh

GoPass

The GoPass allows regular full and part-time city of Raleigh employees to ride for free on all Triangle Transit and Capital Area Transit (CAT) routes. The pass can be obtained at the Public Works Dept. customer service counter, located on the 4th floor of the Avery C. Upchurch Government Complex (222 W. Hargett St).

Durham County

Durham County provides four (4) free bus passes per month per employee. Employees can pick up the passes in the Durham County Manager’s office. Durham County will also subsidize up to $60 per month of an employee’s Vanpool fare.

EMC

Will subsidize up to $50 per month of bus fare or passes purchased by employees.

GlaxoSmithKline

Will subsidize up to $30 per month of an employee’s Vanpool fare, bus fare or passes purchased by the employee.

IBM

Will subsidize up to $30 per month of an employee’s Vanpool fare.

NIEHS

Will subsidize up to $110 per month of an employee’s Vanpool fare, bus fare or passes purchased by the employee.

NC State Government

GoPass

The GoPass can be used by eligible state government employees to ride all Triangle Transit and CAT buses for FREE! Click Here for more information.
NC State Govt. will also subsidize up to $15 per month of an employee’s Vanpool fare.

NC State University

All NC State University students and employees simply need to display their valid NCSU ID to ride all Triangle Transit and Capital Area Transit (CAT) buses for FREE!
NC State University will also subsidize up to $15 per month of an employee’s Vanpool fare.

Redwoods Group

Will subsidize up to $110 per month of an employee’s Vanpool fare.

Research Triangle Foundation (RTF)

Will subsidize up to $64 per month of an employee’s Vanpool fare, bus fare or passes purchased by the employee.

Research Triangle Institute (RTI)

Will subsidize up to $100 per month of an employee’s Vanpool fare, bus fare or passes purchased by the employee.

SmartCommute@rtp

Individuals who are employed by RTP employers that are part of SmartCommute@rtp can obtain two (2) coupons that can be used to purchase discounted regional 30-day passes, or discounted Triangle Transit 10-ride passes. View the List of RTP Employers that belong to SmartCommute@rtp

Syngenta

Will subsidize up to $30 per month of an employee’s Vanpool fare, bus fare or passes purchased by the employee.

UNC-Chapel Hill & Hospital

GoPass

The UNC GoPass is an incentive available to UNC faculty and staff, and students living off campus. Eligible participants can obtain a FREE GoPass, that is valid for unlimited use for one (1) year on all Triangle Transit and DATA routes.
Passes can be obtained at the UNC Public Safety building. For more information about the program please visit the Commuter Alternatives Program web page.
UNC will also subsidize up to $15 per month of an employee’s Vanpool fare.

US EPA

Will subsidize up to $110 per month of an employee’s Vanpool fare, bus fare or passes purchased by the employee. Employees must commit to using alternative transportation on average of three (3) times per week.

Wake County

GoPass

The GoPass allows regular full-time Wake County employees to ride for free on all Capital Area Transit (CAT) and Triangle Transit buses. Wake County will also subsidize up to $30 per month of an employee’s Vanpool fare.
