This page was updated on May 6th. Below are the final recommendations for the following routes:
Details of Proposed Service Changes
Shuttle 49
Proposed service change: For all trips arriving to the Regional Transit Center, use a new routing on the Triangle Expressway and NC-54 to return to the Regional Transit Center. Note: the original proposal only used this routing for two trips in the late afternoon). Make minor schedule adjustments at Louis Stephens at Cisco.Reason for change: Shuttle 49 is experiencing on-time performance issues such that passengers are not consistently able to make transfers at the Regional Transit Center at 5:30pm and 6pm. Ridership is low at the bus stop located on Davis Dr at Park Knoll Dr on the east side of Davis Dr (2-3 customers per day), and there is an alternate stop located across the street.
Stops affected by the proposed service changes: The bus stop #1035 – Davis Dr at Park Knoll Dr on the east side of Davis Dr would be removed for all trips. The alternate stop is #1354 – Davis Dr at Park Knoll Dr on the west side of Davis Dr.
Map of proposed changes:
- Blue route and stop: Current routing and alternate stop location
- Green route: Proposed inbound routing for all arrivals to the Regional Transit Center
- Red route and stop: Inbound routing and stop that would no longer be served

Route 201
Proposed service change: No longer serve Sandy Forks Rd and Shanda Dr in order to shorten the route and make it more direct.Reason for change: Route 201 is experiencing on-time performance issues such that customers are not consistently able to make transfers at the Regional Transit Center in the morning. The Wake County Transit Plan has a local route in North Raleigh between Triangle Town Center and Crabtree Valley Mall on Spring Forest Rd, Lynn Rd, North Hills Rd, and Millbrook Rd, but there is no planned service on Sandy Forks Rd and Shanda Dr. Ridership is low on Sandy Forks Rd and Shanda Dr with 3 boardings and alightings a day.
Stops affected by the proposed service changes: In the morning, the following stops would no longer be served:
- #1790 - Sandy Forks Rd at Falls of Neuse Rd
- #1465 - Sandy Forks Rd at The Lakes
- #1466 - 6305 Shanda Dr
- #1467 - 6117 Shanda Dr
As an alternative, customers could use the following bus stops:
- #1463 - Spring Forest Rd at Falls of Neuse Rd
- New Stop - Spring Forest Rd at Shanda Dr
In the afternoon, the following stops would no longer be served:
- #1573 - Shanda Dr at Apartments
- #1481 - Sandy Forks Rd at The Lakes
- #1482 - Sandy Forks Rd at Falls of Neuse Rd
As an alternative, customers could use the following bus stops:
- New Stop - Spring Forest Rd at Shanda Dr
- #1483 - Spring Forest Rd at Falls of Neuse Rd

Proposed Schedule (*NOTE: subject to change): August 2013 Route 201 Schedule Changes
Route 700
Proposed service change: Eliminate service to Davis Dr and Cornwallis Rd in the northbound direction during the morning peak period (Monday-Friday, 7:00-9:30am) and southbound direction in the afternoon peak period (Monday-Friday, 4:00-6:30pm). NOTE: The original proposal eliminated service from Davis Dr and Cornwallis Rd at all time periods.Reason for change: Route 700 is frequently arriving late throughout the day to the Regional Transit Center and Durham Station, which is causing customers to miss their transfers to other routes. Customers can use Shuttles 42 and 47 during the weekday peak periods.
Stops affected by the proposed service change: The following bus stops would no longer be served by Route 700 in the northbound direction, Monday-Friday from 7:00-9:30am:
- #1689 - Davis Dr at Hercules Building
- #1504 - Davis Dr at Laboratory Dr
- #1848 - Cornwallis Rd at East Institute Dr
The following bus stops would no longer be served by Route 700 in the northbound direction, Monday-Friday from 4:00-6:30pm:
- #1847 - Cornwallis Rd at East Institute Dr
- #1611 - Davis Dr at Hamner Institutes
- #1849 - Davis Dr at RTP Headquarters

- Blue stops – Route 700 continues to serve these stops
- Red stops - Bus stops served by Shuttle 42 or Shuttle 47
- For eastbound trips departing Manning Dr at UNC Hospitals between 4:30pm and 5:30pm, use a new routing (Barbee Chapel Rd, Stagecoach Rd, and NC-751) to avoid traffic on NC-54.
- Make minor schedule adjustments for bus stops near UNC to depart several minutes earlier.
- Provide additional trips during morning (6:43am-10am) and afternoon peak periods (3pm-5:51pm) such that bus service is provided every 15 minutes between the Southpoint Mall Park-and-Ride and UNC.
- Blue route: Proposed eastbound routing on weekdays from 4:30pm-5:30pm
- Blue stops: Bus stop served by Route 805
- Red route: Eastbound routing that would no longer be served on weekdays from 4:30pm-5:30pm

Proposed Schedule (Note: subject to change): August 2013 Route 700 Schedule Changes Back to Top
Route 800
Proposed service change: There are three service changes being proposed on this route:Reason for change: In the afternoon, Route 800 is experiencing on-time performance issues such that customers are not consistently able to make transfers at the Regional Transit Center. A major cause of the delay is traffic congestion on NC-54 between the Friday Center and I-40. There are also several trips in the morning and afternoon peak periods that are experiencing overcrowding. We expect to see more customers riding between Southpoint Mall and UNC in the Fall of 2013.
Stops affected by the proposed service changes: In the eastbound direction only between 4:30pm and 5:30pm, the bus stop #1144 - NC 54 at Falconbridge Rd will no longer be served by Route 800. As an alternative, customers could use Route 805 to access this bus stop.
